Marquette – Registrations are being accepted for the third annual Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash, scheduled for Monday, July 4. Participants may register by mail in advance or at 7:15 a.m. on event day at Shiras Park, located at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and East Fair Avenue.
Entry forms are available at Marquette pet and sport shops. The 2.5- or 1-mile run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. and will be held rain or shine. There will be awards for the fastest overall human male and female in both events, and finisher ribbons for children. A dog costume contest with first- through fifth-place prizes will immediately follow the dash.
