Marquette – The fourth annual Step Up Run/Walk sponsored by Great Lakes Recovery Centers will take place Saturday, May 14 beginning in the parking lot at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and Spring Street in Marquette. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the event at 9 a.m. The run/walk will begin and end at the parking lot, with runners taking the bike path toward Harvey and winding back and walkers traveling in the opposite direction.
Registration costs $20 adults, $10 for ages 13-17 and $5 for ages 0-12. Proceeds from this 10K run and 5K walk go to support substance abuse and mental health treatment services.
Each paid participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt, and awards will be given for first through third place finishes in each age category, as well as a men’s and women’s overall winner. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided after the race.
