Marquette – Marquette General Hospital’s Code Orange Decontamination team will sponsor an open house on Wednesday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the West Entrance Lobby, next to the Emergency Department. Live decontamination demonstrations will be provided at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The Code Orange team will share the hospital’s capabilities in responding to emergency needs in the event of a trauma or chemical-related incident along with updated information on decontamination of children. Displays will be available from the trauma department, emergency department and the hospital preparedness program.
The team will provide tours and demonstrations of its decontamination capabilities, discuss equipment compatibility and demonstrate the safest way to present to the emergency department after a chemical-related incident.
This event is free and open to the public and area businesses that work with hazardous chemicals. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call Eric Williams at 225-7540.
