Marquette – The YMCA will sponsor Splash Week May 4 through 7. The week will be devoted to promoting water recreation and safety along Marquette’s Lake Superior shoreline.
On Thursday, May 5, Megan Babich of the National Weather Service will speak at 7 p.m. in the YMCA lounge. She will discuss water phenomena throughout the U.S. and Great Lakes, including rip currents and channel currents. Find out how the NWS formulates its forecasts and see what the NWS website offers to keep citizens safe at the beach and beyond.
