A regular to the program for several years, Matt Zika, Warning Co-ordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Negaunee Township, joined Mark and Walt to discuss Severe Weather Awareness Week. This week is a time to get prepared for the possibility of severe weather such as tornados, strong thunderstorms and heavy rains during this spring and summer.
Matt discussed a series of ways to be ready for sudden changes in the weather such as having a NOAA-approved weather radio and more. He also discussed an upcoming training session for folks interested in becoming storm spotters and weather watchers for the National Weather Service.
