Republic – A Rally to get materials for Sherry Atkins’ house will be held on Monday, February 28 at the Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union in Republic.
Sherry and Ken Atkins were in the process of building their own home when Sherry was struck with cancer/leukemia. After a painful bone marrow transplant, things looked good, but now the cancer is back. She will be starting the fight again.
The Building Trades/Unions have been helping out, volunteers have been doing work on Sherry’s house. The electrical and heating has been pretty much finished. Carpenters now need to get the finishing work done and materials are needed. A list has been made and Lowes in Marquette are giving a very substantial discount to help buy the materials needed.
An account, The Atkins Building Fund, has been opened at the Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union in Republic. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated. Let’s get Sherry in her house!!! Thanks!
