Marquette – An Encore Evening with Lois Gibbs will be held on Tuesday, February 15 7 p.m. at the Federated Women’s Clubhouse in Marquette.
In October, Gibbs presented “From Love Canal to Michigan” at Northern Michigan University. She also escorted a group of citizens to the Eagle Rock location for a peaceful prayer circle. Gibbs is the executive director of the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, an organization created in 1981 after Gibbs’ triumphant campaign to relocate families living in the Love Canal area in New York state.
In addition to her community presentation, a film of Gibbs’ visit, produced by local media consultant Greg Peterson, will be the catalyst for an interactive discussion with Gibbs and attorney Peter Sessa, an activist who serves on the board of directors of the CHEJ.
