Marquette – Matthew Zika of the National Weather Service will present a winter weather seminar on Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
The seminar will be similar to the NWS's annual spring storm spotter program. Zika will explain the science behind snowstorms and lake effect snow, the changing U.P. climate, how to take accurate snow measurements, the U.P. winter outlook, and how the public can get involved in reporting winter weather to the NWS. There will be a question and answer session following the slide presentation. For more information call 226-4318.
