Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s Lutheran Campus Ministry, ELCA, will sponsor a Gaudeamus (Latin for “joy filled”) interfaith dinner and gathering on Sunday, November 21 at 6 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Marquette.
Gaudeamus promotes fellowship, thanksgiving and connecting with new and old friends of all religions and beliefs. Also on this night, St. Mark’s is hosting, Shalom, an inter-faith worship service intentional in its emphasis on social justice awareness. This service promotes advocacy for peace among all faiths and peoples.
Kay Lee, will be the speaker at both Gaudeamus and Shalom. Pastor Tom and Kay will be leaving in December on their 4th trip to Oman where they have had many interesting experiences discovering, “What it is Like to Live in a Muslim Country.”
After the service, a fellowship coffee hour is offered. Shalom and Gaudeamus is open to all ages and also offers supervised children’s activities for younger children. For more details, call 228-8033 or go to nmulutherans.org.
