This is the weekend where we take a moment and “fall back” by setting our clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night. That means we actually pick up an extra hour of sleep going into Sunday morning. This is also the time of year when it is suggested to check the batteries in the smoke detectors in our home to make sure they are in good working order and full of energy to make sure our homes and businesses are safe in this season of heaters, wood stoves and fireplaces. Brian Naze, with the Marquette City Fire Department, joined us to discuss the need for fresh batteries for your smoke detectors, or how you can get one if you don’t have any in your home. Brian explained how you can get a free smoke detector from the Marquette Fire Department if you need one and you are a resident of Marquette.
