Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present a class on the history of View-Masters on Thursday, November 5 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Marquette.
Collector Sandy Balmer will present a brief history of the View-Master, from a chance encounter of a photographer and piano repairman in 1939 to its recent purchase by the Fisher-Price Co. There will be an array of View-Master slides to view, ranging from advertisements for trucks, plywood and Turkey Store dinner to military training slides from World War II.
Cost is $4 for NCLL members, $7 for others. Registration deadline is Tuesday, November 2; call Don Balmer at 249-1273.
