Marquette – The Readers Theater will meet for a reading of “Melancholy Play” by Sarah Ruhl on Monday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
In this 2002 farce about suffering, “Melancholy Play” tells the story of a group of sad sacks, who revel in their grief and a bank teller named Tilly. Tilly tries hard to join the dispirited friends but causes havoc when she pronounces herself happy.
Peter White Public Library Readers Theater is a group of adults, who are interested in drama and are willing and able to read a scripted role. They meet on the first Monday of each month to read plays for enjoyment. New members are always welcome.
