Marquette – Matthew Zika of the National Weather Service will present a program on winter weather on Wednesday, October 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Zika is the warning coordination meteorologist leading the public awareness, emergency preparedness, and outreach efforts of the local NOAA’s National Weather Service Office. He will discuss the challenges of winter weather forecasting in Upper Michigan, a review of last winter, how to take accurate snow measurements, the winter outlook for Upper Michigan and how the public can get involved in reporting winter weather to the National Weather Service.
