Munising – The Upper Michigan Writers Association will hold its annual conference on Saturday, September 26 at the Holiday Inn Express in Munising.
Registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Jerry Harju, keynote speaker, will speak from 9 to 10 a.m., and keynote speaker Lisa Cerasoli will speak from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
Awards for its annual writing contest will be presented. The conference is open to published and unpublished writers.
Cost for the conference is $55, which includes morning coffee and rolls, lunch and dues for the year.
Awards will be presented from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Winners will be invited to read their entries during lunch.
At 1 p.m. there will be a workshop on poetry workshop led by George Collison and a column writing workshop led by Gail Galotta. At 2 p.m. there will be a humor workshop led by Mary Stock and a magazine writing workshop led by Carol Kloskowski.
