Marquette – The Uniting Neighbors in the Experience of Diversity Conference will feature NMU student organization First Aid Productions presenting musician, songwriter, scholar and activist Derrick Ashong, also known as DNA, on Wednesday, September 15 at 7 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at NMU.
Ashong is the winner of Billboard magazine’s 2007 World Songwriting Competition. As host of “The Derrick Ashong Experience” on SIRIUS XM’s Oprah Radio, the Ghana, West Africa native and Harvard graduate mashes up politics, pop culture, social media, music, the arts and travel to create bridges of understanding.
