Calendar – Music – Negaunee City Band Concert – July 8

Negaunee – The Negaunee City Band will present its weekly concert on Thursday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street in Negaunee.

A highlight of the concert will be Gerry Anderson, retired Negaunee Public Schools band director, playing a baritone solo, “Blue Bells of Scotland.” Director Keith Lawson has chosen a number of patriotic selections, including “Americana,” “America, the Beautiful” and the marches “Independentia” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” Other marches are “On the Square” and “St. Louis Blues March.” Medleys include “Miss Saigon,” “A Leroy Anderson Portrait” and “Pan-American Promenade.”

The band will conclude the concert as always with “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.”
