Marquette/Delta/Alger Counties – The Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians Sault Tribe Alive Youth Project will offer three QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) Train the Trainer sessions in July throughout the U.P.
QPR is a nationally recognized suicide prevention technique. Only 15 people will be trained in each location; reservations are limited to the first 15 registrants. There is no cost for the training; however, each participant must agree to conduct QPR trainings in Marquette, Delta, Schoolcraft or Alger counties.
Training will be offered at the following locations:
Monday, July 26 at the Holiday Inn in Marquette; Tuesday, July 27 at the Comfort Inn in Manistique; and Wednesday, July 28 in the Best Western in Escanaba. Sessions are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and lunch is included. Participants must attend the entire training.
