Calendar – Health – Alzheimer’s Association Annual Conference – April 19

Marquette – “Hope for the Future – Help for Today,” the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual caregiver education conference, will be held on Monday, April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.

The conference is designed to educate caregivers, family members and professionals who provide care to a person with dementia, Alzheimer’s or any serious illness.

Keynote speaker will be Pat Miles, who has an extensive history of finding strengths in communities and individuals to help care for those who are most vulnerable. Other speakers include Dr. Larry Skendzel, medical director at Lake Superior Hospice, and Lisa Cerasoli, local author, actor and family caregiver.

Contact hours will be available for EMTs, CENAs, nurses and social workers. For more information and a registration brochure, call 228-3910.
