Iron River – The Carrie Jacobs-Bond Composing Threaders will sponsor a National Quilt Day open house on Tuesday, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CDT at Grace Covenant Church, 316 Jasper Street in Iron River.
Fabric cutting, piecing by paper, hand and machine sewing and quilting, embroidering and binding will be demonstrated. Children’s quilts, quilts of valor for wounded veterans, and quilts and hats for dialysis and cancer patients, as well as quilts for use at the local kennel will be displayed.
A free lunch will be served. “Sunset Serenade,” a quilt made by the group, will be raffled off at the event.
