Marquette – The Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge will be held on Saturday, March 20 at Marquette Mountain. Registration begins at 2 p.m., followed by the parade of costumes, the plunge and the awards and post party plunge kicking off at 3 p.m.
Any type of attire is permitted, except for wet suits. Shoes are required. Costumes are encouraged, and the winner for best costume will receive the Golden Plunger Award.
The entry fee is a $50 donation to Special Olympics Michigan. Participants will receive “cold cash” incentive prizes based on the total amount of additional donations they collect. All participants receive free admission to the post plunge party, which includes warm food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Admission costs $5 at the door for the general public. Proceeds from this event support year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
