Marquette – The exploration of the planet Saturn by the Cassini spacecraft is the subject of a slide presentation on Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Scott Stobbelaar, NASA Solar System ambassador, will explain the findings of the space mission. Stobbelaar, retired planetarium director and NMU astronomy professor, will show newly released images from last November’s flyby over Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus.
This presentation is an International Year of Astronomy event, a global celebration of astronomy and its contributions to society and culture, marking the 400th anniversary of the first use of an astronomical telescope by Galileo Galilei.
Admission is free, but donations to benefit the library will be accepted.
