Marquette – Glenn T. Sarka, Marquette County assistant prosecutor, will have a collection of photos of Afghanistan and examples of traditional Afghan dress on display through January 31 in the Huron Mountain Club Gallery on the main level of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Sarka will present a slide show tour of Afghanistan on Monday, January 25 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Sarka worked overseas from 2004 to 2007 as a liaison to the U.S. State Department, providing legal advice to Iraq and Afghanistan government officials. The presentation serves as an introduction to the Afghan culture to help foster an understanding of the current situation and American involvement in that part of the world.
