Marquette – Shalom, an ecumenical service intentional in its emphasis on social justice, will be held on Sunday, January 10 at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Presque Isle Avenue in Marquette.
This service promotes advocacy for peace among all denominations and peoples. At Shalom, participants will be challenged and awakened. The service will be led community faith members who will lead the group in dialogues that will allow for reflection on personal and communal faith journeys and share visions for the year 2010.
After the service, a fellowship coffee hour is offered. A free-will offering will be collected and donated to a local charity. Shalom is open to all ages. Supervised activities for children will be available.
