History of Great Lakes Ships July 30

Curtis – The Curtis Library will host two programs on the history of Great Lakes ships on Thursday, July 30.

At 1 p.m., award winning historian and author C. Patrick Labadie will present “Two Hundred Years of Great Lakes History” and “Secrets from Michigan's Shipwrecks.” This lecture will cover the origin and development of commercial shipping on the Great Lakes and the contributions shipping has made to Michigan history.

At 7 p.m. Labadie will present “Secrets from Michigan”s Shipwrecks,” a discussion of the reasons and techniques used for study and documentation of shipwrecks.
