Calendar – Outdoors – Christmas Bird Count – Dec. 19

Marquette-The 62nd annual Marquette Christmas Bird Count will take place Saturday, December 19.

Meet at 7:45 a.m. at the Huron Mountain Bread Company or at 8 a.m. at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. Participants will be divided into four count teams at the park. Participants age 18 or older pay a $5 fee which is submitted to National Audubon to pay for count administration, data management and publication of the results.

Birders may also participate in feeder counts at their homes. There is no fee to participate, but birders must preregister and receive a tally sheet.

The Marquette count circle covers a 7.5- mile radius centered at the old city hall along Washington Street. Birders of all skill levels are welcome.
