The Marquette Senior High School Redmen varsity football team lost its home opener to the Petoskey Northmen by a score of 55-10 at William R. Hart Stadium in Marquette, Michigan on Friday, August 29, 2008.
Marquette kept it close for about the first 10 minutes of the game until Petoskey intercepted a pass and eventually ran it in for a touchdown. Petoskey's defense never let up after that and Marquette had a very rough time containing the run. Marquette continued to struggle on offense as it saw a couple of drives end with fumbles.
Marquette plays again at home on Friday, September 5th against the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils at William R. Hart Stadium. Game time is at 7:30pm.
