The Marquette Senior High School Redmen freshmen football team (2-1) lost its first game of season to the Iron Mountain Mountaineers by a score of 32-6 at William R. Hart Stadium in Marquette, Michigan on Thursday, September 11, 2008.
The conditions weren't the best with wind and rain making the passing game difficult for both teams. Unfortunately, Iron Mountain's defense was able to contain Marquette's running game while Marquette's defense allowed too many opportunities for Iron Mountain to get to the outside, break tackles and score touchdowns. Iron Mountain's special teams were also able to score on a couple of kick returns.
Marquette's only touchdown came on a run by Josh Bullock with Iron Mountain's second string defense on the field late in the fourth quarter.
