Rangers beat Motor City Machine, 6-4

RangersThe Marquette Rangers Junior A hockey team defeated the Motor City Machine by a score of 6-4 at Lakeview Arena in Marquette, Michigan on Friday, October 24, 2008.

The Motor City Machine came out fighting (literally) when Rangers Captain, Aaron Pietila, got into a battle near the end of the first period with a Motor City defender. It was one of the longest hockey fights I have seen yet. Both men served their 5 minute penalty for fighting and then kept on competing.

Motor City struck first and then pretty quickly again before the Rangers notched their first power play goal of the game, all in the first period.

After the second Motor City goal, Rangers goalie, Matt Brooker, was replaced with Kevin Kissaw who finished the game making some big key saves along the way.
