MDOT-NEWS-BANNER

POWERS, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Menominee County Road Commission have issued a permit for railroad bridge work near the US-2/US-41 intersection in Powers, Menominee County, requiring a short detour Oct. 20-31.

A five-day closure of US-2 will begin at about 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20. The detour will be removed for the weekend around 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

The closure and detour will resume at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, until the work is completed later that week. Absent unforeseen delays, the detour should be removed no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

Motorists should follow the signed detour on local roads.

Closing the highway during this type of work is necessary to keep motorists and workers safe.
