LAST CALL for Art Week 2025 project proposals

The City of Marquette Office of Arts & Culture is currently accepting requests for projects to take place during this year’s City of Marquette Art Week, scheduled for Monday, June 23 – Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Art Week is an annual event held during the last full week of June that invites local artists, organizations, and businesses to come together and collaborate on a week-long series of arts and cultural events, including concerts, workshops, performances, exhibits, demonstrations, and more, free to the Marquette community. The mission of Art Week is to build and empower a vibrant community through the arts by building partnerships and collaboration between artists and organizations, developing and empowering artists, and increasing audience engagement by removing barriers to participate with the arts.

This year’s Art Week theme is STORIES. We ask that proposed projects connect to and play off this theme.

When dreaming up ideas for this year’s Art Week, consider what story you would like to share with the community. This could be the story of your personal creative journey, or the story of how your organization has grown into what it is today. It could be a story long forgotten, or one that’s still being written. You might give voice to the storytellers of the land or the Lake. Tell a story of those who have inspired you or those who have challenged you. Or perhaps you wish to collect stories from around the community!

We also welcome partners who have been involved in past Art Weeks to reprise successful projects from recent years, as we seek to not only offer a fresh slate of events for the community but also highlight special moments from our ten-year journey.

Artists and organizations interested in proposing a project must complete and submit a proposal form, linked below, by Friday, March 7.

Requests for funding assistance of up to $400 are also being accepted via the same form, made possible thanks to support from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council.

Please review the project proposal guidelines prior to submitting the form.
