Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will host a tour of the Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Plant on Thursday, June 29.
Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the Berry Events Center east parking lot or at 10:15 a.m. at Jack's Foods in Harvey.
Tom Asmus, plant superintendent, will lead a tour of the facility and give a presentation on the history of wastewater treatment in Marquette, summarize the Clean Water Act and provide an overview of the latest technology. A walking tour of the plant will follow.
Cost is $4 for Northern Center for Lifelong Learning members, $7 for others. Registration deadline is June 23.
