DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TRICK OR TREATING WEST WASHINGTON STREET CLOSURE:

On Saturday October 26, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Washington Street will be closed between Fourth Street and Front Street for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority’s annual downtown trick or treating event. The “Social District” will be shut down during the closure. A detour will be provided around the closure. Motorists are asked to take caution when travelling in the area. SPRING STREET CLOSURE

On Saturday October 26, at 9:30a.m. Spring Street between Third Street and Lakeshore Boulevard, and Lakeshore Boulevard between Spring Street and Baraga Avenue will be closed for Queen City Running Company’s “Trick or Trot.” Spring Street will reopen at approximately 10:15 a.m., after the start of the race, and Lakeshore Boulevard will remain closed until 12:00p.m. The course will utilize the city multi-use path/Iron Ore Heritage Trail from Mattson Park south of the city limits. No other streets will be closed. Motorists are asked to take caution when travelling in the area.

DOG AND CAT LICENSES, OFF-LEASH PERMITS UNAVAILABLE THROUGH NOVEMBER ELECTION

Dog and cat licenses and permits for the City’s off-leash area will be unavailable for purchase in the City Clerk’s Office from October 28th until November 6th. During this time, resources and office space will be dedicated to preparation for the November Presidential Election, and specifically to absentee voters. Dog licenses will still be available for purchase from several local vet’s offices and at the Marquette County Treasurer’s Office. Beginning Wednesday, November 6th, licenses and permits will be available as normal.
