ISHPEMING, MI –
The St. Rocco – St. Anthony Society of Ishpeming invites everyone, regardless of heritage, to join in the festivities at the 125th Annual Italian Fest. This cherished event honors Italian traditions while bringing the community together for a day filled with delicious food, vibrant music, and family-friendly activities.
The Italian Fest will kick off at noon on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Al Quaal Recreation Area. The celebration will continue throughout the day, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at dusk. Admission is free, and many children’s activities are offered at no cost.
Visitors can look forward to homemade Italian food prepared by the Valela family, available for purchase at the society’s food booth. Additionally, a variety of vendors will be serving cudighis, Italian sandwiches, hot dogs, snow cones, ice cream novelties, and more.
Festival highlights include:
- Bingo
- A greased pole contest with a $100 prize
- A large glide slide
- Kid’s inflatable bounce castle
- Children’s games
- Games of chance
- Arts & crafts vendors
The musical entertainment lineup for 2024 is as follows:
- Soundz of Time with Jan and Gino from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Diamanti Band from Chicago, Illinois, performing classic contemporary Italian and American music from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Local band DayDreamers from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a dazzling fireworks display at dusk, lighting up the sky and capping off a day of celebration.
