Marquette, Michigan –
***Update:
Meta platforms are back online as of 1:20 PM based off Meta Facebook post. The reason given is a server issue. Facebook employees say they are running off of backup servers for now.***
Get kicked off your Facebook this morning? Can’t refresh Instagram? No worries you’re not alone. It seems there is a global outage for these Meta-owned platforms, whether it is the applications or websites. Down Detector is reporting over 350,000 outage reports for Facebook users. With people chiming in about their outages from places as far from us as Bangladesh and Czech Republic this is not just a localized issue.
Meta has no dedicated place for status updates involving their platforms for either business or personal operations. According to Independent.co they haven’t made any official updates on Twitter/X, either.
As of right now it seems there is no way to find out what is going on specifically, but we suggest keeping an eye out on Down Detector and their Twitter/X account for future updates. There is no need to panic, however there is no telling what the issue involves currently. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it ourselves here at mediaBrew, and we’ll keep you in the loop with what we learn.
