New season of ‘Ask the DNR’ begins Thursday on WNMU-TV13

Stacy Welling-Haughey, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Upper Peninsula field deputy, will be among the DNR staffers to answer viewer questions live Thursday night on “Ask the DNR” on WNMU-TV13.

In addition to Haughey, DNR panelists will include conservation officer Andrea Dani, who patrols Alger County, fisheries biologist John Bauman from Escanaba and wildlife biologist Brian Roell from Marquette.

The hour-long program, hosted by Mike Settles, will air live at 8 p.m. EDT, Thursday, Sept. 29. The program will be available later online, where WNMU-TV13 archives past shows.

The broadcast will be underwritten by the U.P. Whitetails Association of Marquette County whose members will be volunteering to answer calls during the program.

“This show will be another great opportunity for viewers to get their questions answered from DNR experts,” said John Pepin, DNR deputy public information officer. “Getting to have questions answered directly is a great way to share information between the department and the public.”

The broadcast kicks off a new season of the long-running information and public affairs program. Additional air dates this season will include Nov. 3 and Dec. 1, 2022, and April 6, 2023.

Viewers are reminded to leave at least their first name, city and phone number when calling in questions. Those questions not answered on the air will be answered by DNR staffers in returned phone calls following the program.
