Former State Rep. Paul Tesanovich, (D) L'Anse, was recently re-elected to the Baraga County Board. Tesanovich's re-election was one of the few local elections that was part of last month's presidential primary and it sort of got lost in the mayhem. Paul was a county commissioner before being elected to the state House of Representatives. In his interview with Great Lakes Radio, he noted that both the late Joe Mack and the late Rusty Hellman were defeated in their attempts at local office after serving in the state House. Tesanovich, who represents Covington and Spur townships, as well as a portion of L'Anse, said that serving in many ways local government is more challenging than state government. – Pete Mackin, UP to the Minute Report
