The 13 week course the US Coast Guard Auxillary is holding begins Jan 18th from 7-9pm. The class will meet every Thursday in the Superior Dome. Throughout the course they will be teaching which boat is for you, radio, lines and knots, equiptment rules, powering, etc. Upon completing the course there will be a final exam. If you pass the exam you get a certificate. If you are the ages 16-21 you need this certificate through the State of Michigan to operate anything over 35 horsepower.
