Marquette – Signs of child abuse and ways to combat it will be the focus of a program presented on Thursday, June 11 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Fran S. Waters, a private practice clinical social worker and licensed marriage and family therapist, will discuss proper identification of the symptoms exhibited by an abused child and the importance of early intervention. Recommendations will be provided on how to respond and what resources and treatment are available.
This event is part of Your Mind Matters, a community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of local community health organizations, advocacy groups, individuals and the Peter White Public Library.
