Marquette City Fire Department dispatched to 110 E. Michigan Avenue for a structure fire August 3, 2020

The Marquette City Fire Department was dispatched to 110 E. Michigan Avenue for a reported structure fire. As fire crews arrived on scene the Incident Commander immediately established command and noticed moderate smoke and fire conditions coming from the roof of the structure. Fire crews preformed and initial search of the structure and did not find any trapped occupants. The fire was brought under control approximately 20 minutes after the initial crew arrived on scene. The Marquette City Fire Department was assisted on this incident by the Marquette City Police Department, the Marquette City Public Works Department, The Marquette Township Fire Department, the Chocolay Township Fire Department, Marquette General Hospital Ambulance Crew #141, the Semco Gas Company, and the Marquette Board of Light and Power. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
