A virtual public meeting has been scheduled for Monday regarding the applications by Eagle Mine and Humboldt Mill for air permits. An in-person public hearing had been canceled earlier in accordance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The rescheduled virtual public meeting is 6 p.m., Monday, March 30. The meeting will include an information session about the proposed air permits as well as a question and answer session. Register here for Monday’s hearing.
The public comment period has also been extended to April 3. Interested parties are encouraged to present their written views on the proposed projects either by email to EGLE-AQD-PTIPublicComments@Michigan.gov or by postal mail to Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, Air Quality Division, Permit Section, P.O. Box 30260, Lansing, MI 48909-7760.
The state is taking proactive steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in reducing the coronavirus risk to Michigan residents.
