Yarn Spinners
Tuesday, March 3, 2026. 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Peter White Public Library Great Room. Youth of all ages and skill levels are invited to cozy up and work on their crochet, knit and weaving skills! Once a month, youth can come to work on creations from home or work on a new pattern with fellow yarn spinners. Some tools and yarn will be provided, and parents are encouraged to attend with their kids to work on projects of their own. Drop-in program; staff will help kids with patterns when able. Meditate Marquette
Tuesdays, March (3, 10, 17, 24, 31) 2026. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room. Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer a weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation program. The sessions begin at 6:00 pm followed by a period of fellowship. Dr. Debra Smith, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and psychologist, will deliver brief talks exploring various aspects of meditation and its impact on our lives. These talks will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, while longer meditation sessions are scheduled for the remaining Tuesdays. U.P. Poet Laureate Reading: Beverly Matherne & Jesse Koenig

Pokémon Trading and Gaming
Thursdays, March (5, 26), 2026. 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Peter White Public Library Youth Services Makerspace. Youth of all ages who are interested in Pokémon card trading and gaming are invited to our new monthly Pokémon Trading & Gaming Sessions. Kids who attend will be able to trade & play the card game with other kids. Please note that staff do not know how to play the game, so it is not guaranteed that gaming will always happen. If your child has a friend they like to game with, come together! Kids will also be able to spend time with other Pokémon fans, chatting about Pokémon and looking through their cards. Important – Trading & gaming will be kid led. It is highly recommended that parents do not allow their children to bring cards that they do not want them to accidentally trade! Northwords and Music: Spring Odyssey
Thursday, March 5, 2026. 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Community Room. Adults, Seniors, Family. Join 2022 Marquette Writer of the Year B. G. Bradley and his friends for an evening of music, stories, poetry, and skits sure to make you laugh, cry, clap, and sing for those big moments in our lives. The show features two-time U. P. Poet Laureate Marty Achatz; celebrated musicians Linda Smith and Seamus Collins (Big Lake Acoustic); actress Jacque Love; and actor Jim Edwards. This event will also be livestreamed. Cultivating Care, Compassion, and Connection
Fridays, March (6, 13, 20, 27) 2026. Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library, Heritage Room. In partnership with several area organizations, this hour-long event offers a safe space to
pause, reflect, and build meaningful connections with others who are committed to cultivating kindness in our world. Each week, a different organization takes the lead, with experienced educators and leaders facilitating. This rotating format ensures diverse perspectives and practices while maintaining a shared commitment to the Charter for Compassion and the Circle of Trust principles. Meditate Marquette Presents: A Year of Mindful Living
Saturday, March 7, 2026. 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Peter White Public Library, George Shiras III Room. Four mindfulness meditation and yoga teachers invite you to engage in a year of mindful living. Each month, one of the teachers will present a topic that addresses the different dimensions where we can practice mindfulness and presence. The intent is for us to cultivate mindfulness, care, and well-being individually and in our love, business, and social relationships. These are drop-in sessions, although committing to a full year is a way to build a consistent mindfulness practice. Dreamcatcher Workshop

Smart will teach participants how to create their very own traditional dreamcatchers. All supplies will be provided, and Indigenous foods will be available to sample. CRP Dinner & a Movie Block Busting Cinema: The Danish Girl
Monday, March 9, 2026. 5:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Community Room. Adults, Seniors. Bring your dinner, sit down, and enjoy this sensitive 2015 film inspired by the lives to two Danish painters. Alicia Vikander won an Oscar for her portrayal of Gerde Wegener, the wife of Lili Elbe (Eddie Redmayne in an Oscar-nominated performance), who was one of the first recipients of gender reassignment surgery. Tasty Reads Book Group
Tuesday, March 10, 2026. 12:00 p.m. -1:30 p.m. Peter White Public Library Shiras Room. A book group for readers, who love to cook. With a focus on food-themed literature, the group explores a variety of books from cookbooks to culinary memoirs. Participants can enjoy tasty treats inspired by the book of the month while sharing their thoughts and connecting with others who share their passion for both literature and food. Repair Cafe
Saturday, March 14, 2026. 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Huron Mountain Club Gallery. Toss it? No way! The Repair Café is back thanks to a partnership with the Marquette Sustainability Coalition. Bring in broken household goods such as appliances, clothing, or bikes and skilled fixers will assist you in repairing them. This is a great way to save money, learn valuable repair skills, and reduce your environmental impact. No admission charge. School’s Out, Library’s In: “How To Train Your Dragon”
Monday, March 16, 2026. 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Youth Services Room. Kids of all ages are welcome to come and hang out at the library during this full no MAPS school day! Come read, check out materials, play and drop-in for some dragonly hijinks and fun. From 12-5pm there will be drop-in games in the Great Room, Sheep Toss and an Obstacle Course, and a Dragon craft in the Makerspace. The live action film “How to Train Your Dragon” will begin at 12:45 in the Community Room, popcorn provided. During the film kids will be able to make a Viking name necklace craft. Kulishek Lecture Series: Maazhi-Aakoziwin Nimisading Miinwaa Ingondashkwaying (A Bad Illness in My Stomach and Throat).

Dr. Martin Reinhardt will share a brief overview of his experience with esophageal cancer and how he incorporated both traditional Anishinaabe medicine and Western medicine into his treatment. Trustee & Power of Attorney Basics: A Taproot Law Workshop
