Marquette County’s Plan for COVID-19 as of March 13, 2020

Given all of the issues and concerns related to COVID 19,Marquette County officials,along with the Marquette County Health Department, have been reviewing County services and operational procedures.The intent of Marquette County is to consider the needs of the community, while ensuring best practices are in place for the health and welfare of patrons and employees.At this time,with the noted exception of the County Jail(below),all County operations are continuing as normal.In an effort to reduce potential exposure by patrons and staff, I strongly encourage the public, when physical presence is not required for a court hearing, to utilize Marquette County’s numerous on-line services. The services are listed on the County homepage (http://www.co.marquette.mi.us/).The public can also call and seek assistance from specific departments by telephone.The County discourages those that are sick from physically visiting the County facilities during this emergency.If you are scheduled for a Court hearing and are ill, please call the appropriate Court:Circuit Court -225-8330District Court -225-8235Probate/Juvenile Court -225-8300Jail operations:The Marquette Sheriff’s Office lobby is closed to the public effective March 13, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.Call 911 for emergenciesInmate Visitation is available by visiting www.videovisitanywhere.com (There will be no in-house visitation) Inmate bond and commissary deposits can be made by visiting jailatm.com Jail housing and booking ticket payments can be made by mail or calling 225-8477 Civil Process payments and requests for papers to be served should be mailed.
