Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a logging truck accident that closed down US-41 in Ely Township March 12, 2020

Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a logging truck accident yesterday that closed down US-41 in Ely Township. It happened around 4:45 p.m. near County Road 496 when an eastbound semi logging truck, owned by KRS Trucking, went out of control on the slushy highway.  It crossed the center line, jackknifed, and went into the ditch, spilling it’s entire log load onto the roadway. The driver was not injured and was cited for defective equipment due to bald tires on the truck. It took approximately 4 hours to clean up the scene and re-open the highway.
