Marquette County’s Sunny 101.9 WKQS Named Station Of The Year by Michigan Association Of Broadcasters

mediaBrew CommunicationsSunny 101.9 WKQS has been named as the Market 4 Commercial Radio Station of the Year in Michigan. The Michigan Association of Broadcasters and MAB Foundation announced the recognition at the 2019 Broadcast Excellence Awards Program, held as part of the Great Lakes Media Show on March 4th, 2020 at the Lansing Center. This marks the fourth time that WKQS has been recognized as Station of the Year.

The station received awards in several individual categories, including Breaking News Story, Feature Programming, Investigative Story, Feature/Use of Medium, Community Involvement, and Morning Show Broadcast Personality or Team, culminating in the recognition as Station of the Year.

President of mediaBrew Communications Chuck Williams says, “The recognition is truly an honor and a credit to the entire Sunny 101.9 team. We are especially proud of the award we received for Best Community Involvement. The station is a live and local operation staffed by people who live in Marquette County, and we work very hard to serve our community with local news, sports and event coverage to keep listeners connected with what’s going on in their town.”
