A lifetime of new options to manage your diabetes, improve your health and
feel better!* Participate in a FREE Diabetes Workshop Today!*
More than 100 million adults in the U.S. are now living with diabetes or
pre-diabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC). While that statistic is startling, there is good news. People with
diabetes or pre-diabetes can improve their health by joining a
Diabetes-PATH workshop that will be offered for free locally with support
from the* West End YMCA of Marquette County, UPCAP* and the *Lions Clubs of
Michigan*. This Stanford University evidence-based program has been
researched and proven to improve the health of adults with diabetes or
pre-diabetes.
In just 6 sessions, Diabetes-PATH participants will learn strategies for
managing their diabetes. This includes techniques to deal with symptoms
such as fatigue and anxiety along with information about healthy eating,
appropriate use of medications, activity, exercise and working effectively
with healthcare providers. Participants learn to make realistic, achievable
action plans to reach their goals and share their experiences to help each
other solve problems.
This Diabetes-PATH workshop will be held once a week on Wednesdays, April
15th – May 20th, 2020 from 1:00p.m.-3:30p.m. at the West End YMCA located
at 350 Iron Street in Negaunee, MI. There is *NO COST* to attend and all
materials are included along with snacks and refreshments at each session.
