Negaunee, MI – Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron is announcing the sale of the former Negaunee Waste Water Treatment Plant. The plant consists of 12-acre property with a combination of buildings and waste water digesters.
The council gave Heffron the authority to auction off the property back in February of 2019 at their regular meeting. An auction was held on April 25, 2019, at the Negaunee City hall, where one bidder attended. The minimum bid started at 30 thousand dollars, Mr. Pete O’Dovero was the successful bidder.
“We are glad to see this property transfer to private property, where it can get some use for someone else and return to the tax rolls”, Heffron stated. What will be done with the property is not known at this time, however the property is zoned for industrial use.
