Marquette Breakfast Rotary Receives Presidential 2017-2018 Rotary Citation

Marquette, MI October 16, 2018 – Marquette Breakfast Rotary announced today that they have met the qualifications for the 2017-2018 Rotary Citation. The Presidential Citation is awarded to clubs that are strong and making a positive difference in their community by aligning with Rotary’s strategic priorities.

Rotary International looks at the following requirements:
• To Support and Strengthen Clubs
• Focus and Increase Humanitarian Service
• Enhance Rotary’s Public Image and Awareness.

“The Presidential Citation requires clubs to continually review and look at our impact in the community on a regular basis, said Scott Knaffla, Marquette Breakfast Rotary president. “To receive this award for a second consecutive year, says a lot about our direction and our dedication to the Marquette community. Our club is thriving and moving in a positive direction; we have great plans for this coming year.”

The Presidential Citation encourages clubs to:
• Attract members with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
• Engage in local and international service projects
• Support and involve young people in community projects
• Enhance the club’s public image and build awareness of Rotary by telling stories about the club’s
activities that are making a positive difference.

Marquette Breakfast Rotary consists of 52 members. The club meets every Thursday morning at 7:15 am at the Wildcat Den, on the campus of Northern Michigan University. “We are always welcoming new members. If you’ve never experienced Rotary before, come and join us for breakfast and learn about all the good that is happening in our community,” said Knaffla.

The Presidential Citation will be officially presented to the club on October 18, 2018 at
approximately 7:45 am at the club’s weekly meeting.
