National School Choice Week

National School Choice Week begins on Friday, January 25, 2013 and ends on Saturday, February 2, 2013.

This week is national school choice week.

Parents: if you want to send your child to a different school next year, now is the time to start looking.

If you wait until summer break, your options will be very limited. Seats in great schools start filling up right now.

So, if you’re looking to switch schools, make a list of every possible school that might work for your child.

Look into traditional public schools …. Public charter schools … magnet schools … private schools… or online learning. You may also want to consider homeschooling. Visit the schools on your list, interview teachers and administrators, talk to other parents, and make sure to look up the school’s performance metrics.

National school choice week is a time to start thinking about your choice for the next school year. For helpful tips and information, visit school choice week dot com and find an event in your area.
