2009 Air Academy Aug. 21-22

Gwinn – The 2009 Air Academy for youths ages 13 to 17, sponsored by Chapter 850 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, will be held on Friday, August 21 at 6 p.m. at the Jacobetti Center at NMU and on Saturday, August 22 at Boreal Aviation at Sawyer International Airport.
Information on careers in aviation will be highlighted and activities will include planning and participating in an extended local flight, visiting the control tower at the Sawyer airport, and touring aircraft maintenance facilities at the airport.
This event is limited to 10 participants. Cost of $20 covers food and supplies. All pilots and instructors donate their time and the use of their planes.
