St. Ignace, MI – A Rendezvous at the Straits French Voyager Reenactment and Powwow, a family event celebrating the history of the St. Ignace area, will take place at the Father Marquette National Memorial, just off US-2 west of I-75 in St. Ignace. Admission is $4.00 for elders, children 5 and under are free, and $5.00 for everyone else. This is really two events in one — part French voyager re-enactment and part traditional Powwow. Visit the French encampments, watch demonstrations, visit vendors displaying authentic wares, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Native dancing and drumming ceremonies. Traditional Native American food will be available. Topping off Saturday’s activities will be fireworks over the bay at 10:00 p.m. in downtown St. Ignace!
